Princess (now Lucy) – Homed

Beautiful Princess (now known as Lucy) has found her forever home down in Melbourne with Paul, Sue and kids and new brother, greyhound Marcus. Marcus also came from Greyhound Rescue around a year ago.

Princess has been living up to her name recently with an audition to go on stage at the Lyric Theatre for the Doris Day Show and actually appearing on TV in Celebrity Apprentice with Shane Crawford. She has been able to do this because she is so relaxed and laid back and is becoming quite a star!!

Princess is another young girl who was recently handed into the Pound and would have been euthanaised if we had not taken her. At her age she is a failed racer and is a very  quiet, easy going girl, who would make an excellent family pet. She has been living with other greyhounds and small dogs and gets on with them all very well. However, she is not cat friendly!

A recent visitor described Princess as ‘A small, cruisey, well behaved and sweet young girl. She will make someone the perfect companion.’

Princess is:

  • three years old(dob Oct 2008)
  • desexed
  • microchipped
  • vaccinated
  • heartworm tested and injected
  • costs $300

I had the pleasure of meeting Princess over the weekend while she was out on trial. Unfortunately she has returned to the rescue centre. Princess made a huge impression on my wife and I. She was gentle, quiet, and loving. With a little more one on one attention she is going to make an amazing family pet. I witnessed Princes following my two nephews around the back yard as if she was keeping watch over them. Not once did she show any aggression or fear, no matter the noise and chaos that went on around her. When one of the boys fell and started to cry Princess came to him and walked by his side back into the house, once again as if she was trying to protect him.
The only reason we didn’t not snatch her up is due to us living in a small apartment and don’t feel it would be fair to her. We also have another dog that we fear may be a bit territorial.
If you are looking for a new family pet, please give Princess a look. She has touched our hearts and I am sure she will do the same for your family.

Princess did not test well at the first meeting with cats. This may change. However, Rocket and Bubba who have just arrived did test well with cats.

I can’t believe Princess hasn’t been snapped up yet. She is the most placid, calm and not to mention gorgeous lady with glorious manners. She walks amazingly well on the lead, even waits for you if she’s tangled or if you’ve accidentally dropped the lead for a second! Princess deserves her forever home, she had been waiting quietly and patiently for so long. C’mon guys spread the word!
