Lucy (Homed)

Lucy has found her forever home with Anna Louise and greyhound Bosley.

Lucy is absolutely beautiful to walk on a lead and seems to think everyone who walks by should pat her, she’s a really gentle and  friendly soul. Her previous owners think she is probably cat or small dog friendly and this will be further tested. Lucy really deserves the chance to finally be a loved pet, she was only just saved in time.

One of our volunteers wrote this of Lucy:

“I had the pleasure of being the first member of Greyhound Rescue to meet Ms Lucy when she was surrendered.  What a gentle loving & quiet senior member of the Greyhound family.  She loves her walks on lead & what a pleasure to walk. An expert in getting into the back seat of a car & you don’t need to ask twice to get her out.  Very responsive to her name & really very happy to do things that make you happy.  8 years is long enough not to have a forever home & a human to love her unconditionally.  Please consider taking Ms Lucy home to show her that not all humans only want her for what she can give them.  Let’s show Lucy there are nice human beings out there.”

Lucy is:

  • 8 years old (dob April 2004)
  • desexed
  • microchipped
  • vaccinated
  • heartworm tested and treated
  • costs $300

I had Lucy in my care for 3 years. She had a litter of 9 pups all of whom I reared. She is a lovely girl,No trouble at all and was a pleasure to look after.Lucy is well behave I dont think I ever heard her bark.Luvs her rug and was never a fussy eater. She luvs a walk and a drive in the car.I would luv to have bought her with me when I moved to Wagga from Sydney but I have too many older girls of my own.The owners could not take her as they all lived with their parents. When Lucy came into my care her collar had been so tight around her neck that it left marks where it had been. She was first rescued by 4 young guys who bought her to me.Up until the time I had her in my care I do not think she had a very happy life, but i made her loved and happy. So please consider Lucy so that she can live her old age with humans who would luv her and will give her the forever home she so deserves!!

Lucy is such a beautiful gentle soul & one that if I had the room I would adopt. Whenever I visit the kennels it’s Lucy who I first see because she is wagging her tail in happiness to see me. She has like a lot of Greyounds who have had a bad start to her life. It’s been 8 years of not knowing or experiencing a forever home. I am absolutely in love with this senior Grey. Whoever is lucky enough to be chosen as Lucy’s parent(s) will experience such joy from the love that Lucy gives. I hope she is not living in kennels for to much longer as 8 years is enough time of only knowing cement & wire. She should now be experiencing the soft feeling of a lounge & bed. Good luck my beautiful girl.
