Arnie (cat friendly) – homed

Arnie is staying with his foster carers forever!

Arnie arrived last week having been dropped off at a vet to be killed. They could not do it and we couldn’t say no to him. He went home with Peter and Jan and has settled in so easily you would think he has always been there. As you can see he is totally gorgeous. Arnie has no ear tags, is estimated age 2 years old, light fawn and very laid back with a quiet personality.

He is fine with small dogs- simply a very easy going, relaxed boy who loves a cuddle. This is what our friend Trish said as he stayed with her for a bit:

“Arnie Report…not The Terminator sort! It is the beginning of Arnie’s third full day…he is a gem. Lots of playing, cuddling and a little zoomie. A big happy smile! I can take his food right from under him..stand on his “many” beds:) step over him in the night..and he slept through pretty much last night. Did a quick roach as I walked past him this morning and loves lying out in the yard on the grass. He wants me to come out and play with him. He will make someone very happy for sure”.

Arnie is now in foster care with two other dogs.

Arnie is:

* 18 months – 2 years old (estimated)

* desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm tested and treated

* located Sydney

* adoption costs $300

    He is a gorgeous looking boy, love his smiley face! I would love to give a Greyhound a home, I’ve looked at many breeds, including mixed breeds at shelters, but I always come back to the Greys, the are so sweet, and gentle, and such a sad plight. I woukd love to give one a home, I live in an apartment on the ground floor, my husband is a shift worker and I work, 9:30 to 2:30, we also have a very boisterous 6 year old, would a Grey cope with arrangements like this?

    I currently live in Brisbane and am looking for a cat friendly greyhound to adopt. We have 2 small children and 1 cat. We also have a couple of chickens.
    Would Arnie be suitable for us?

    Hi Emily, I am unsure if you have had a reply to your query- apologies if not, as many of the volunteers are away at the moment. Thanks for your enquiry. Arnie has a family taking him on trial very soon and we have no other cat friendlies at the moment. However they do arrive fairly regularly. Keep in touch with the website/facebook page for new dogs as they arrive. Thanks, Sue
