Having exhibited anxiety as a ‘Kennel Kid’ at our Rescue Centre, Greysland, Strudel was lucky enough to spend time in a couple of foster homes before being adopted by Emma, Ben and fellow Greyhound Rescue alumnus Stretch.
In her new life with Liz and Simon, Béchamel has really landed on her feet – or, alternatively, in roach position, depending on her mood.
When applying to adopt a greyhound, Tonya’s one request was that she’d like a dog happy to walk with her each day. “I certainly got that!” she says. Gracie, who she adopted at eight months old, is in her element on a bushwalk and happily continues for an hour or more at a time, earning her the nickname ‘endurance hound’.
“We 110% would recommend adopting a greyhound as it’s made such an impact on our lives in ways we hadn’t imagined, let alone how much we’ve been able to provide Panza a better life. Thank you, Greyhound Rescue, for bringing Panza into our lives!”
While she relishes a good run, like most greys Angel can think of nothing better than a quality snooze. And she has her pick of location! “There are now five beds arounds my one-bedroom apartment!” says Peter. “Six if you count mine, which she has recently figured out how to make her own!”
