Gorgeous Scout (formerly Effie) nailed the transition from kennel kid to furever family, securing herself adoring pawrents and a big brother in one fell swoop!
“She made the perfect addition to our family. We got our first greyhound, Sam (formerly Fella) from Greyhound Rescue in July 2018. He needed some company and Scout was the perfect fit – she loves spending time with him and having a nap alongside him,” said mum Alex
“The two of them are great company for me when I’m working from home!
“Scout has two modes: sweet and cuddly, or super playful and excited. She loves meeting new people and other pups, splashing around in mud puddles, playing with her toys and doing zoomies around the park.
“She’ll then inevitably follow all that activity and excitement up with a roach and relax up against a wall – greyhound style!
According to Alex, Scout is a happy girl who really takes the time to enjoy the small things in life.
“She’s an early riser and if we are still in bed, she’ll run and get her favourite squeaky toy to ‘encourage’ us to get up so we can go for our morning walk. Not that we do a lot of walking d – she loves to stop when we’re out and about and lay down in any soft grass she can find!
“When Scout first came home with us, she was very scared of things like loud noises, poles and broomsticks. With training and lots of love she’s really out of her shell.
“Friends, family and even strangers often meet our two greyhounds and are surprised by how sweet, gentle and calm they are. They don’t pull on a lead and are much easier to handle than a brand-new puppy.
“I’d recommend getting a greyhound as a pet to anyone! They make such great family dogs and are amazing company.”
