Forming fast friendships both hound and human around the neighbourhood, Bullet is loving his new life as a pet.

Bullet found his forever home with Renee, Brett and family, and they say he is such a joy to have around.
“We love him so much,” says Renee. “We love that we are able to give this beautiful boy a good life. All dogs deserve that.”
How to describe Bullet?
Super speedy, Renee says “Bullet lives up to his name… he is super-fast, and sometimes you don’t see him coming!”
While he can be speedy when he wants to, Renae explains he is a gentle boy, and always cooperates even when he isn’t a fan of the activity at hand – think bathtime and getting in the car!
“Bullet absolutely LOVES the kids! He loves to play with them and follow them around, and seems either a bit flat or totally exhausted after they go home.”
He loves a game of ball in the backyard, and will “literally follow you around with his ball in his mouth and drop it in front of you to let you know that it’s time!”
It took Bullet some time to enjoy his walks, finding them a bit stressful during his first few months in his forever home. Nowadays he loves them, and Renee says there is little chance you will get out of the door without him.

Bullet did display signs of separation anxiety a few months after arriving home.
“We have all had a bit of a journey to ensure he is as comfortable as possible, doing what we can to minimise his time alone, working with a specialist behavioural vet and finding the right medication,” says Renee.
“He has settled down very well now and while he will never enjoy being alone, he has learned that nothing bad happens when we are not here and will just wait, mostly patiently, until he is reunited with his humans again.”
Asked whether she has any advice for others adopting a greyhound, Renee says she would share the advice they received from one of their vets – ‘when it comes to greyhounds, throw out all of the textbooks’.
“They are just so different to other dogs, but they are so beautiful, so gentle, so loving, and so quirky! The settling in period while they learn to be a pet is ABSOLUTELY worth it.”
