Jennifer

Name: Jennifer

Volunteer with Greyhound Rescue for: 1 Year

Volunteering role: Home-Visit Crew

What was it that sparked your interest in volunteering with Greyhound Rescue?

I was alarmed at the plight of greyhounds and that such a vast number of greyhounds were needing homes.

How long have you been volunteering and what shifts/role do you do?

I have been volunteering for almost a year. I am on the home visit crew and average two to three home visits a month.

What’s your favourite thing about volunteering?

I love meeting prospective pawrents and families, and helping to prepare them for life with one of these beautiful animals. It gives me joy knowing that I am part of the process of providing greyhounds with their second chance at life.

What would you say to someone thinking about applying to volunteer?

I volunteer because adopting greyhounds has been such a joy for me and I want to pass it on. I love visiting potential greyhound owners and preparing them for a life-changing experience.
