Gorgeous Joyce has a cheeky side

Sep 22, 2022 | Success Stories

When Glenn adopted Joyce six months ago, little did he know just how much she would change his world. And while Joyce may be an older lady, you’d never know it by her energy and zest for life.

Well and truly settled into her new life with Glenn, Joyce’s personality has really started to shine. Some of the things she now enjoys include a good zoomie a day, a nice long sniffari around the backyard or local neighbourhood (but preferably both) and meeting new people.

Her absolute favourite thing though, says Glenn, is “snuggling up next to you for an ear rub”. She doesn’t mind a holiday either, staying with Glenn’s family the times he has had to go away.

Her past life unfortunately left her with some discomfort in her legs and feet. Glenn has helped her work through these and nursed her to sleep many a night post tendon and toe surgery. Thankfully, the surgery helped Joyce immensely and she can now run around like “brand new”.

Glenn says the beautiful Joyce has a cheeky side, and she shows it most during playtime.

“She bounces around you, and when you turn away from her, she sticks her snout up your butt” says Glenn.

Cheekiness aside, Glenn and Joyce have a relationship that warms the heart. Previously living on his own, Glenn loves having Joyce around as she has changed his life for the better. Of hounds in general, he believes they are “seriously magnificent for a person’s mental health”.

Joyce has also encouraged Glenn in other ways.

“The other major benefit is Joyce gets me out for short walks several times a day. I am beginning to appreciate nature again and love meeting new people in the park and the street. She has connected me more with my world.”

Glenn recommends the Greyhound Rescue adoption process, explaining that the always friendly and caring team provided “…ongoing support until I was up and running.”
