Keep an eye out for Captain on sniffari in the Inner West

Oct 24, 2020 | Success Stories

We love receiving updates from our Greyhound Rescue adopter family! Claudia adopted sweet, little Captain in March this year, and has just ticked over 6 ‘greyt’ months with this 4-year-old black wiggle monster.

“Six months already?! How the time has flown!! Even though Captain was a delight from the first moment he charged through the doors of Greyhound Rescue and shoved his nose into my nose, he’s come a very long way in six months.

We’ve seen him grow in confidence about trying new things (vegetables are still not great, apparently, but the car is OK).

He’s the happiest boy – unless it is 4.17 and the 4.15 walk has been interrupted by work! Reassurances that we do this work so that we can keep him supplied with treats are met with suspicion and howling. He can’t contain himself when the leash comes out, and wiggles all over the place before we head out for a sniffari!

We did have some issues with sleep startle to begin with but we’ve helped him learn that his bed is a safe space, and much nicer than the sofa, because bed is where treats and toys are!

He loves eggs in all forms and is a constant little (big) shadow who loves absolutely everyone he meets. He loves to bring his toys to new guests – an offering of friendship or maybe showing off how many soft things he owns?

Having Captain in our lives has made the last six months so much nicer and given us so much joy and hilarity. He’s the best boy ever and we cannot thank you enough for helping us find him.”
