Well hello there! What’s the craic?

The name’s Saoirse (pronounced Seer-SHA) — Irish for “freedom” or “liberty” — which feels pretty fitting for a young rescue greyhound ready to take on the world (preferably from the comfort of a couch).

I’m a beautiful young black greyhound currently living in foster care and absolutely thriving in my new pet life. Despite technically still being a baby, I’ve already nailed some very important life skills: toilet training (not a single wee issue, thank you very much), sleeping through the night like a professional nap enthusiast, and generally being a very good girl. My foster family also reports no signs of sleep startle — just peaceful snoozing and the occasional dramatic stretch.

I’m confident with stairs, including polished wooden ones at the pub. Yes, the pub! I’m basically a sophisticated little socialite now. My only condition is that any future outings involve establishments respectful enough to serve Guinness. I have standards.

I can happily stay home alone for up to two hours without any signs of anxiety, and I walk beautifully on lead with no pulling or fuss. I’ve shown lovely manners around other dogs while out and about and have also met children aged 1, 3, 4, and 6 with no issues at all.

I travel calmly in the car, although I do appreciate a helping hand getting in — I prefer to think of it as being chauffeured.

Now, in the interest of honesty, I do have a few hobbies. These include collecting shoes, borrowing reading glasses, and enthusiastically shredding magazines. The good news? I don’t destroy the important stuff, and I happily trade my treasures back when offered something better. Clever girl behaviour, really.

At home, I’m a world-class cuddle buddy who loves lounging on the couch watching TV with my humans. I’m also a big fan of toys, zoomies, and daily walks.

I get along wonderfully with larger dogs, but I’m still learning how to politely interact with smaller ones, so I’m looking for a home without small dogs while I continue figuring life out.

So if you’re searching for a fun, affectionate young greyhound with a cheeky streak, a love of cuddles, and enough personality to keep you laughing for years to come — Saoirse might just be your girl.
