¡Hola! It’s me — Rafa! 🎾
I’m currently taking a well-earned break between “matches” at the rescue centre, so thought I’d pop by to tell you a little about myself.
Like my famous namesake, I’m tall, dark, handsome, and built like an athlete. I’m a champion ball-chaser (toys are my absolute number one love), and if you’re willing to throw them for me… we’re already off to a great start. Chasing, carrying, squeaking — honestly, toys are life.
After a good play session, I’m quite happy doing my own thing. I’m an independent kind of guy and prefer to co-exist alongside my people rather than be in the middle of everything. In the beginning, I’ll likely just quietly hang out near you, taking it all in. I do take time to warm up and build trust, but as our bond grows, you’ll see me absolutely flourish.
I’m looking for a calm, quiet home where I can truly relax. Having a safe space I can retreat to when I need some downtime is really important for me — and my bed is exactly that. I LOVE my bed. It’s my safe place, my chill zone, my favourite spot to relax and recharge. I’m also really good with alone time and am happy to spend time snoozing peacefully in my bed while you’re out.
I thrive on routine and consistency — it helps me feel secure and understand the world around me.
I’d much prefer to be your one and only dog. I’m happiest doing my own thing and don’t feel the need for canine company. I’m also best suited to a home without kids, where things are a little more predictable and peaceful.
I do enjoy getting out and about — adventures, walks, exploring new places — I’m always keen to stretch my legs and take in the world around me. Just as long as I’ve got my safe home base to come back to afterwards.
One thing to know about me… storms are very scawwwy. I’ll need a patient human who understands this and can help me feel safe and supported when the weather gets a bit loud.
So, if you’re someone who appreciates a more independent companion, who’s happy to build a bond over time, throw a toy (or ten), and give me the space I need to grow into my best self… I think we could be a perfect match.
Game, set, match? 🎾🖤
