Where Are They Now: Molly’s Story

Feb 3, 2025 | Success Stories

Linda, Matthew and family adopted Molly over a year ago, and say that every day since has been a joy. Read on to hear about their wonderful journey together so far.

“Introducing our beautiful big fur baby, Molly! Formerly known as Chyna,” says Linda.

How did Molly settle in with your family?

“Molly settled into our house and family from day one… she has honestly been a perfect house pet. She only had one accident on the first night and sleeps on her mat in the lounge room all night and does not move until we get up.  Although we do hear a whine from the lounge room at 6.45am if I am not up getting ready to walk her!”

“Molly is a beautiful and affectionate hound. She is always right by our side when inside the house and she will come to us when she wants a pat or when we call her for a pat. She drops her head between our legs and is like a statue until we stop.”

What are her favourite things to do?

“Her favourite times of the day are morning and afternoon walks. As summer approached I was out the door at 6.30am to beat the heat and now she is waiting at this time so I don’t know what I am going to do when winter comes as I don’t plan on being outdoors that early! I can’t believe how good she is on walks. She walks right by our side and stops as soon as we stop.”

“I love her zoomies. It makes me chuckle every time she sprints around the back yard!”

How did you find the adoption process with Greyhound Rescue?

“I recommend adopting from Greyhound Rescue as they really put in a lot of time and effort to make sure both hound and owner are perfectly matched and happy.”

“Greyhounds are such affectionate and gentle creatures and I would definitely recommend adopting one (or two). We are so happy that we have been able to save Molly from her life of racing and she will be loved for the rest of her days.”
