Clooney Finds His Forever Home

Sep 25, 2024 | Success Stories

Like his namesake, Clooney is a charmer. With killer good looks, an absolute zest for life and a mischievous streak, Clooney makes friends wherever he goes. And he has made plenty of those in his new Jindabyne home with his pawrents, Eliza and Hamish.

Clooney was well loved by the volunteers during his time at Greysland, with all so happy when he found his forever home.

He found the perfect forever home – one where he is included in all the family activities, which he loves! He has become a “great companion for Eliza working from home… he is also a delight to his grandparents and loves to go and stay.”

Clooney “likes to lie on the couch but doesn’t quite fit,” Eliza says. “He inevitably slowly slides off, usually with his tongue hanging out. As we write this, he slid a little too far and, in the scramble to recover, did an absolutely tremendous fart.”

Eliza and Hamish say one of his favourite things to do is to play with a ball, “chase the ball, kill the ball, keep the ball, ball is life.” He’s also not afraid to jump on Eliza & Hamish’s SUPs. Just quietly though, he wonders why people love them so much when you can’t run around!

To others considering adopting a hound, Hamish and Eliza believe greyhounds to be great for first time dog owners, and think it’s important to remember that they may not be a cuddle bunny – at least for the first few months.

Eliza says greyhounds are “a great fit if you have a job or other responsibilities – they need some quality time but are genuinely happy chilling while you do other things.”

“Greyhound Rescue did a great job explaining how hounds haven’t seen much of the world and how even simple things like stairs can be hard,” says Eliza.

“It was a good warning – we have rickety stairs up to our door so Clooney got the princess carry for several days!”
