Greyhound Rescue finds loving forever homes for greyhounds no longer wanted by the racing industry. We interviewed Luke, who adopted greyhound Cher in May 2021, about their adoption experience.
“When our previous greyhound Bob passed away in 2020, we had no doubt in our minds that when we were ready again, we’d choose to adopt another greyhound. In May, we were lucky enough to be paired with Cher.
Cher has definitely lived up to her name! She’s a bit of a diva with very particular taste, particularly for our shoes, which she systematically collects from us and visitors alike to neatly place on her bed. She loves other dogs and will often stop when she sees one on the other side of the road, hoping to cross and meet them. As a socialite her favourite thing to do is go on walks with her doggo pals. She has a lot of heart and just loves to be around us whenever she can, especially if we are within reach to give her a good belly rub. Cher’s human cousins Tom and James say: “Cher is kind, energetic and lovely” and “very soft, nice, gentle, and loves pats!”
Greyhound Rescue are an absolutely wonderful group who pull out all the stops to ensure they find the right greyhound for you. If you’re thinking about adopting a dog, I would absolutely recommend these loving, adorable, soulful goofballs.
We’re thrilled to have Cher in our lives!”
