Remember that time we had puppies? Well Squid was one of these precious babies, and look how big she is now!

When Kayla adopted Squid, little idea did she have what a perfect team they would make. Squid is Kayla’s best friend and soul mate.
“Squid was lucky to be adopted as a puppy!” Kayla says. “I was so sure I wasn’t going to be approved to adopt one of the puppies but the universe (and the Greyhound Rescue team) sent her to me.”
Kayla says that Squid was originally named Pear!
“All her litter mates were named after green things” explains Kayla. “But as a massive fan of deep sea cephalopods, Squid’s inky black fur and Squid shaped head inspired me to name her after my favourite deep sea specimen”.
“Squid has 2 settings – sleep and feral,” says Kayla.
“When she’s not napping, she’s looking for chaos to reign, shoes to steal, treats to eat and things to chew.”
“She’s adorably goofy and she just wakes up excited to live every day.”
Squid has a cheeky, playful streak, and has become somewhat of a collector.
“Several times now Squid has come inside with tiny mangoes that she’s stolen from our fruit trees in the yard and she likes to give them to us as gifts,” says Kayla. “She also likes to bring me my dirty laundry (especially my bra) and seems exceptionally pleased with herself when she does.”
Kayla says that Squid gets to spend time with her littermate Sage, and that they adore each other. She’s a favourite at their local pub, their local cafes, hardware stores, even the local petbarn!

Kayla says that Greyhounds are such a loving breed and make amazing pets.
“She just ADORES people and other dogs, she has such a happy excitable girl who makes people fall in love with her wherever she goes.“
“Squid has filled the gigantic dog-shaped hole in my heart after we lost our whippet several years ago,” explains Kayla.
“We sorely missed having a pet and Squid has brought so much love into our lives.”
“She’s been the light of my life and has been a source of joy and laughter for all my family members.”
“Squid has absolutely changed my life, in all the best ways and I cannot imagine life without my Squiddy baby girl.”
