Lilly’s Next Chapter

Apr 22, 2026 | Success Stories

You may remember the cute-as-a-button Little Miss, who came to Greyhound Rescue with hyperextended front feet. She found her forever home with Kelly, who says, “I had a feeling about her, I knew she was mine.. she definitely is the girl for me.”  Now Lilly, this is her and Kelly’s story.

What is Your Hound’s Name?

Lilly, formerly Little Miss

Tell us About Lilly!

Lilly is just perfect. She is probably the happiest, most loving dog I have ever met. I work with dogs so that is saying a lot. She loves pretty much everyone she meets and loves to give cuddles all the time. She is outgoing, confident and sassy.

What’s her Favourite Thing to do?

That’s a hard one – she loves everything in life. Cuddles / playing / zoomies / walk time / eating.

Are There any Funny Stories That You’d Like to Share?

Lilly has taken to turning down the bed when I go to work. I make the bed every morning and come home to the quilt cover, pillows and sheets turned down and her sleeping in it. It’s her favourite thing to do to get comfy.

How has she Fit Into Your Family?

She fits perfectly in with me and my lifestyle. I have actually rescheduled my work and life around her which has given me perspective and priorities. I love it. In saying that, she has won the heart of my mother, who does not like dogs at all but loves Lilly, and my siblings and their family. She is much loved as part of the broader family.

What Would you say to Someone Thinking About Adopting a Greyhound?

I have already influenced another adoption with people who met Lilly when I first got her. They now have a beautiful big brindle boy.

I would and have said DO IT. You will never regret it. They are smart, gentle, funny, sensitive dogs. I have never had my own dog before and I can’t believe just how she has completed my world. We do everything together, they really are companion dogs. We are deeply bonded.
