Florence blossoming in her new life

Dec 3, 2020 | Success Stories

When Florence (formerly Poirot) left the Greyhound Rescue kennels with her new mum Lauren in March this year, we knew she was headed off into a lovely new life full of love and happiness.

With COVID-19 throwing a spanner in health-worker Lauren’s plans, Florence headed to her new home in Cantebury a little earlier than expected, but apparently this little hiccup didn’t bother Flo in the slightest!

With Lauren making some lunch time trips home in the first few days, plus some extra company from a few of Lauren’s friends, Florence took to pet life like a duck to water!

“She’s a very placid girl who settled into pet life and apartment living very easily,” said Lauren.

“She loves the dog park and has made lots of four-legged friends – and two-legged! She is never too shy to ask the humans at the park for a neck massage.

“Unlike most of the hounds I’ve seen, Florence actually refuses to get up on the couch, despite having full permission and even encouragement! She much prefers me to get down on the rug for a snuggle and a hand hold.

“I’m very lucky to be Flo’s human. We LOVE not having to share each other’s attention!
