Memphis (homed)

Hi there, I’m Memphis! You know the song that says “Then I’ll be walking in Memphis…?” well you’re lucky, because if you adopt me you’ll get to walk with Memphis! And if I get a home of my own it will feel like I’m walking with my four feet off the ground! I’m a playful and happy boy looking for a family that wants to get out and about and go on adventures. I could do with a yard to zoom around in and probably wouldn’t suit an apartment at this stage of my young life. I’m best suited to a family without very young children, but if you have some teenagers willing to throw a ball around with me that would be just greyt!

I’m Cliffy and once you’ve met me you might just get a  funny feeling that you’re falling in love with me…well that’s what Cliff Richard sang, and he’s a Cliffy too so it must be right! If you have been hypnotised  hooked by my eyes and good looks, just wait until you meet me in person. I’m ever so friendly and happy to love you. I am good with children and other dogs my size although I haven’t met any small dogs yet. I am out of the puppy phase and just looking out for somewhere to chill. Do you have a couch? You do? Avril (Homed)

Avril is kindly sponsored by Samantha & Shona.

I’m Avril, but unlike my namesake I don’t have anything that’s complicated! I just need a home! I am a happy playful little girl with a big personality. I adore toys (even ones that are bigger than me!) and will do anything to get my paws on a stash I can call my own. I would be suited to a home without small fluffies, and older children would be best because I’m a little pocket rocket (plus, they might lose their toys because I would most definitely steal them!) I am still just a pup so could do with a bit of legroom and a family willing to teach me some doggy manners, but I am so eager to please and ever so cute I’m sure it won’t be too much of a chore. If you are interested in me or any of my buddies waiting for homes contact the volunteers to see if you are my perfect match! info@greyhoundrescue.com.au

City 2 Surf 2016

DSC06804

Put on your running shoes and come join us for this year’s City 2
Surf on August 14th! We have a team participating this year to raise much needed funds for Greyhound Rescue and we would love you to join us. You don’t have to run, walkers are also welcome (including mums and dads with prams) just choose the starting group that best fits your physical fitness.

More of a couch potato like our houndies? That’s ok, we would love some sponsors for our team members, or even some cheerleaders along the way. Spread the word for us at your workplace, and among family and friends, every little bit counts.

If you would like to join us you need to register by following this link at the City 2 Surf Website. You can join our team the Greyhound Rescue Racers which is already set up. You will then need to start your individual fundraising page here at Everyday Hero and join our fundraising team there too. Don’t forget to share your fundraising page and update your followers on how you are doing!

We will be meeting after the run for some refreshments, and maybe there might be a hound or two at the end to give us all a hug for our efforts! Any questions please contact Kate kate@greyhoundrescue.com.au

Winter Magic Festival 2016

Greyhound Rescue is participating in this year’s largest event in the Blue Mountains, the Winter Magic Festival! Our Mountain Hounds volunteers will have some greyhound related goodies to sell, volunteers to chat to, and a hound or two to hug! Wrap up warm and come say hello . This is a free event, but parking is extremely limited, so we suggest using public transport. Hopping off at Katoomba Station will get you a few footsteps away from the main event. There are stalls the whole length of the main street, food, entertainment, and more. Doggies are welcome as this is an outdoor venue – however it does get very crowded and noisy online. The Grand Parade does feature drummers, musicians, and similar, so please use your best judgement as to whether your doggie would be comfortable in this environment. See you there!

Inca (Homed)

Inca is kindly sponsored by Jade.

I’m Inca and unlike the Inca warriors of long ago the only things I want to conquer is your lounge, the foodbowl, and your heart (not necessarily in that order!) Of course by conquering those three things I’ll have taken over your world anyway, but being a lazy greyhound I’d rather lead a campaign of lazy infiltration than anything else, it would take far too much effort otherwise! I would suit a home where I am the only conquerer, and there are no competitors for  my humans to bow to my every whim….er…I mean, thou shalt have no other dog but me….I mean…you just won’t need andoggy else ok? If you can handle being my conquest get in touch with the volunteers info@greyhoundrescue.com.au
