Greyhound Rescue’s “A Walk in the Park”

What:

Greyhound Rescue is hosting a sponsored walk to raise some much needed funds and to increase awareness of the charity and greyhounds as pets. It will also be… a great social event for all interested in greyhounds.

Before the walk:

Owners or foster carers can submit their greyhound(s), then an online fundraising page will be created. Friends and family can then sponsor your greyhound to walk around The Grand Drive. To request for a registration form please post on the facebook event wall or facebook message the admin of this event – Nora Anderson.

During the walk:

Humans and dogs of all ages and sizes are welcome, however only greyhounds can register to raise money. We are allowed 4 leashed dogs per person on The Grand Drive and unfortunately greyhounds must be muzzled as this is not an official event.  Greenhounds are the exception.

After the walk:

You are all invited to have a picnic social (area in Centennial Park to be confirmed). Some refreshments and snacks will be provided but we would love if you were able to bring a dish to share.

If you are unable to come to the walk but still want to raise money then feel free to submit a form and do your walk in a local park on the day or at another time.

For those that are unable to physically walk The Grand Drive but still want to take part at the event, feel free to come along and sit at the picnic area to support the others.

Volunteers are also welcome!

Good Saturday!!

Today has been a very good day for Greyhound Rescue.

Thank you to Nora and Ed for all their hard work, holding a very successfull stall at the North Sydney Market, where they raised $400 for Greyhound Rescue.  Rocky, Princess and Audrey were the greys convincing the public what good pets they make and Rocky, as always, was very successful getting donations from the public into his donation coat!!

As if that was not enough Kristie has decided to give Lady and Jimmy a trial as from next weekend and Johnny, who only arrived a week ago, will be going on trial with Vicki just after Xmas. Three greyhounds in one day!!

What a day!! May there be many like it.

Thank you Pure Platinum

Many thanks to Rob at Pure Platinum, who organised the fundraiser, and all the people who gave their time free of charge to make the night a huge success.

The food, the company, the atmosphere, the girls were all great and the evening was most enjoyable. To top it all Pure Platinum raised $3000 for Greyhound Rescue.

Thank you Pure Platinum, that will go a long way to saving the greyhounds who need so much help.

Mosman Pets Day Out-Sunday 30th Oct

The forecast of rain never happened and a beautiful spring Sydney day set the tone for an excellent day at Mosman.

The first picture shows the winner of the raffle, Petrina, along with greyhound Missy who also found a new home on the day.

The second picture shows five year old Michaela who won the colouring-in competition.

The day was an overall success with Missy finding a home, Ellie finding a foster home and lots of people finding out about the greyhounds.

Thank you to everyone who turned up to help particularly, Mike, Fiona, Charlotte, Natasha, Donna, Deb, Brian and Jan. The day would not have been a success without your hard work.

Also thanks to those of you who came along with greyhounds and it was good to see Pablo getting back on deck after breaking his leg.
