Hi there! My name is Poppet — Poppet by name, and poppy by nature.
I’m a bouncy, joyful young lady who’s had a bit of a ruff start in life. Because of that, I’m looking for kind, patient humans who’ll let me grow at my own pace and help me become the confident, snuggly superstar I’m meant to be.
I’m super affectionate — in fact, my signature move is to wedge my whole head under your armpit. Sometimes I get a bit too enthusiastic and send your arm flying (sorry in advance!), but I promise it’s all love.
I adore playtime, and I’d be happiest in a home with some outdoor space where I can unleash my mini-zoomies and let my inner joy run wild, and love nothing better than flinging my toys in the air and retrieving them.
I've recently discovered the absolute joy of splashing around in water—who knew it could be so much fun? I don’t need anything fancy (though I would look great poolside); even a humble kiddie paddling pool is enough to make my tail wag like crazy.
I’d prefer to be your one and only — other doggos can be a bit much for me, and I shine brightest when I’m the solo star of the show. I thrive with routine, structure, and snacks (especially snacks), so a home that can offer all three would help me settle beautifully.
While I love people, I’d do best in a home without young kids (under 12). I wouldn’t mean to knock anyone over, but I’ve got legs for days and a little too much enthusiasm sometimes!
Despite my bursts of bounce, I’m also a professional napper — like most greyhounds, I take sleeping very seriously, so no need for a DNA test on that front.
If you think I might be your perfect match, please get in touch with the lovely team at Greyhound Rescue. I’d love nothing more than to celebrate my 2nd birthday — and my first one in a forever home — with you.

To make sure everyone is happy, we match each hound with the right family, and we provide lots of support along the way!
