Hi, I'm Boris.
I'm seven years old, black, and sporting a rather distinguished silver snoot. I'm currently staying with a wonderful greyhound guardian, but what I'd really love is a forever home of my own.
I'm a creature of simple pleasures. Dinner is a very important event and I am absolutely not fussy about it. Walks are another highlight, twice a day, please, and I tend to get adorably excited when I realise one is happening. Think wiggly bottom, happy anticipation, and a very clear sense that this is the best news I have heard all day. Once we're out, though, I'm perfectly content just trotting along and taking in the world.
Now, the important part: I am a leaner. Legs, couches, nearby humans, all excellent leaning surfaces. I'm a very affectionate boy and I really like being close to my people. I also love squeaky toys, tennis balls, the beach, and a good swim, so I've got plenty of enthusiasm for both lazy afternoons and proper adventures
I've previously lived with another greyhound for three years and we were great mates, so I'm very used to canine company. I also love a good greyhound get-together and am generally friendly with other dogs. Every now and then I can decide that a particular dog is not quite my cup of tea and may bark or lunge a little, but it's more bluster than anything else, there's no malice behind it. I’m also firmly in favour of children. I've lived with little ones before and absolutely loved them, so I'd be very happy in a family with children over 5.
I'm quite capable of entertaining myself. As long as I've had my walks and I'm somewhere familiar, I'm happy to curl up and snooze while you're out. Stairs are no problem at all, up or down, I sleep soundly without fuss, and I'm fit and healthy with no medical issues to speak of. I've had some training too, and I'm a clever boy who is keen to keep learning. My recall is coming along nicely, and if you enjoy doing a bit of training with your dog, I'll be very happy to join in.
I think I'd thrive with a family who has time for walks, cuddles, play, and lots of companionship. In return, I can offer silver-snooted good looks, excellent leaning skills, a very happy wiggly bottom, and a whole lot of love.
If that sounds like your kind of life, I'd love to meet you.
