Help A Hound
Want to sponsor me and the other kennel kids?

Hey there — the name’s Alastor. Yes, it’s an unusual spelling… but then again, I’m not exactly your average greyhound.

First things first: don’t let my size fool you. Sure, I’m a big, handsome black boy, but underneath all this impressive packaging is a total softie. I’m very much a gentle giant — the kind who loves a cuddle, enjoys a good lean against your legs, and firmly believes pats should continue indefinitely once started.

I’m also a bit of a goofy character and a professional enthusiast when it comes to toys. Honestly, toys are one of humanity’s greatest inventions. Squeaky toys, fluffy toys, toys to chase, toss, fetch, pounce on dramatically… I love them all. I can entertain myself for ages, and I promise my extremely athletic (and occasionally ridiculous) toy manoeuvres will keep you laughing too.

Walks are another one of my favourite things. The moment the lead comes out, I’m ready for adventure. There are simply too many excellent smells to investigate and too many exciting places to explore. I’m still discovering all the wonderful things pet life has to offer — toys, treats, comfy beds, affection, snack breaks — and I am absolutely embracing the experience.

I’d likely do well in a home with children over 5, especially if they’re kind and understand that sometimes even big brave boys need a little peace and quiet while settling into home life.

I can get very excited when meeting other dogs and sometimes forget my manners in the enthusiasm of the moment, so I think I’d be happiest as the only dog in the home for now, while I continue learning the ropes of being a much-loved pet.

So, if you’re searching for a loyal best mate who’s equal parts handsome, affectionate, funny, and delightfully goofy, I may just be your perfect match.

And trust me — once you meet me, you won’t forget the name.
