Positive reinforcement is key to force-free training, but it can be a bit tricky when your hound is wearing their muzzle
Training
Why is my hound wakeful at night?
Being unsettled at nighttime is a not-uncommon issue when settling a new hound into your home. Here are some practical suggestions to try if your hound is being unsettled at bedtime or overnight.
My new name!
Your new hound may not know their name, but teaching them is not hard, in fact it is a great way to bond with them and to give them lots of positive reinforcement.
Learning to do stairs
Many greyhounds have never encountered stairs before. Other dogs learn this skill as a puppy when they are fool-hardy and fearless.
What is reactivity?
It is important to keep in mind that your new Greyhound has likely never seen any other breeds of dogs before, so it may take them a while to recognise them, time and patience as well as positive training methods can help to overcome reactivity.
Why does my greyhound freeze?
Sometimes, we see some greyhounds freeze mid-walk. It’s all a fear response – and one you can work with them on overcoming.
Why not help a hound of your own?
