Meet Dizzy, the Blonde Beauty with a Personality to Match

May 30, 2023 | Success Stories

Miss Dizzy is a “beautiful blonde with an attitude to match”, say doting pawrents Audrey and Sam.

“Bubbly and sweet, she needs to be constantly reminded how pretty she is, and how much we love her. Once she gets her fill of attention, she has no problem letting us know that she is sorted by walking away and falling asleep.”

When it comes to her favourite activities, “Dizzy loves nothing more than to roll around in crispy grass and fall asleep in the sun. She also loves scatter games in the grass, and throwing her prize around a bit before she will eat it.”

While Dizzy’s life is full of joy now, her journey to finding her forever home was not without its challenges.

“For the first few months after Dizzy came home with us, we were left scratching our heads at what to do to make her life more enjoyable,” Audrey explains.

“She didn’t eat much at all, didn’t seem interested in toys, was really scared going on walks and very clingy. However it has been an absolute joy to watch how she has evolved these past six months.”

“She has now become a never ending black hole when it comes to food, is always throwing around her toys (very dramatically), and LOVES going on walks around the neighbourhood and sniffing every single shrub we pass.”

If you are thinking about adopting a greyhound, Dizzy’s pawents recommendation is simple:  “DO IT! Not one person has left our house without being converted into an instant greyhound lover.”

“Dizzy is the perfect first child that will make anybody want to adopt a second. She is super playful and chill, is great with our nieces and nephews, and fits like the missing puzzle piece.”

They also highly recommend Greyhound Rescue for their support and community, who made the transition to adopting a rescue greyhound much easier.

“Greyhound Rescue have been helpful from day dot, their community is always there for useful advice or cute pictures,” says Audrey. “Adopting a rescue greyhound can be a bit daunting, but is made so much easier with such a wonderful support network.”
