Beautiful Shrimp found her forever home six months ago with Remi and Cameron.
“Shrimp is such a huge part of our lives now and has fit so well into our family” says Remi.
“My partner Cam and I moved out together last year so it’s lovely to have her at home with us. She comes with us everywhere, everyone in the family loves having her around and loves taking her on walks.”
Now that she’s settled in, her typical days consist of snoozing, cuddles, long walks and of course, zoomies.
Remi and Cameron say it has been so special to see Shrimp come out of her shell, who had been shy and timid at first.
“For at least the first three months she was would only walk up one side of our block and turn around and go back. She’d refuse to go further and some days she didn’t even want to go outside.”
“Then one day it clicked, instead of turning around she kept going, tail wagging and all! Now she loves her long walks, adventures and trying new things, it’s so lovely!”
Since finding her forever home, Shrimp has become quite partial to the dulcet tones of a classical concerto.
“The funniest thing about Shrimp is her deep love for classical music” says Remi.
“An ad came on with violins in it and she ran to the TV… and didn’t move until it was over. Now she will run from anywhere in the house when classical music is played, and will lay down and fall asleep. Her favourite is Mozart!”
What would Remi say to someone pondering adopting a greyhound?
“It’s the most rewarding thing ever, they have the best personalities”.
“Greyhound Rescue guides you through the process. Our adoption coordinator was great, no question or concern was too small” says Remi. “They really helped us settle Shrimp into pet life!”
