Due to the social distancing requirements of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve had to cancel all Greyhound Rescue events.
We love the chance to get out and about with people – whether at large, long-standing annual events or smaller, more regional or ad hoc ones. Events serve many purposes for charities like ours: we see them as great opportunities to raise awareness and educate the public about what we do, as well as what incredible pets greyhounds make; to expose rescued hounds to crowds of various sizes; allow people to meet and greet greys in need of homes; and, of course, to raise all-important funds that allow us to continue our work. As such, our inability to attend events has really delivered quite a blow.
If you think you might be able to help us out with a few extra dollars at this time, why not consider making a donation? Even the cost of your usual commute will assist us greatly.
Alternatively, you can sponsor a hound in need via our Help a Hound program. You’ll receive regular updates on your sponsored grey, along with the knowledge that your monthly sponsorship will help cover the costs of food, shelter, veterinary care, rehabilitation and rehoming, keeping a hound safe and well cared for.
You can also help us raise awareness of our efforts by following us on Facebook and Instagram and sharing our posts wherever possible.
Anything you can do to help us give the greys a hand during this challenging time is greatly appreciated. And hopefully it won’t be long until we can get back out into the community doing what we love most.
