Greyhound Rescue is taking Expressions of Interest for our Greyhound Guardians program. This an extremely important part of our foster to adoption process, and an role essential in setting our hounds up for success with their forever families. If you love greyhounds, have space in your heart and home to temporarily support rescue greyhounds while they learn about pet life, this volunteer opportunity is for you!
What does the role involve?
This volunteer role involves transitioning greyhounds from kennel to pet life in the comfort and safety of your home. You will be part of a dedicated team with one-on-one support. Training is provided and expenses relating to the care of greyhounds will be covered by Greyhound Rescue.
The ideal volunteer for this role:
- Has a calm household and is prepared to share their home with a greyhound for periods of approximately 3 to 8 weeks
- Is willing to guide and train greyhounds using positive reinforcement methods
- Is available to be a repeat carer
- Has a vehicle to transport greyhounds as may be required trom time to time
- Located in greater Sydney, Wollondilly Shire, Southern Highlands, Illawarra and Canberra
