Volunteer Spotlight: Emma

May 23, 2024 | Volunteer Stories

It’s National Volunteer Week and we’re celebrating the many wonderful people who give their time, dedication and love to help the hounds at Greyhound Rescue.

Meet Emma. She came across Greyhound Rescue while looking for somewhere to volunteer her time post-COVID. “At the same time, I was looking into adopting a dog and I stumbled upon the profiles of a few of the GR kennel kids. I knew virtually nothing about greyhounds at the time, but after doing a bit of research I decided to apply to volunteer and learn more about these gorgeous animals. I’ve never looked back!” she said.

Now with two greys of her own, Emma finds it impossible to name her most memorable hound during her time volunteering. She’s fallen in love with each one and been captivated by their individual and often quirky personalities. “I found a new sense of purpose when I started volunteering with GR. I love meeting so many beautiful hounds and helping them transition into their forever homes. I find it so fulfilling to be part of their journey.”
