The fabulous Franky didn’t have a name for the first three years of his life. Now he not only has a name but he has found a loving family in Emma and Kurt.
In Emma and Kurt’s house, you know when it’s 6pm. Like the best alarm clock they never knew they needed, the fabulous Franky isn’t shy in making it known when his dinner is late. And don’t worry, Franky isn’t unfair. He’ll let Emma and Kurt know about breakfast too.
“If his dinner is not delivered by 6pm on the dot, we hear about it” says Emma. “Similarly, if we dare sleep in past breakfast time, he lets us know that it is unacceptable. He would excel at a job in management.”
Franky loves to be with his people. While Emma says he doesn’t have to be physically standing next to you, it is essential that he can see you at all times.
“We like to watch his little eyeballs volley back and forth as he keeps a close eye on us plodding around the house, ensuring we don’t try and sneak away from his careful supervision,” Emma explains.
Franky appreciates the simple things in life. Sleep, ear scratches, and food.
“He does take a scheduled break from his slumber to perform some wicked zoomies and laps around but then he is right back to imitating the dead,” Emma says.
“He is also the most food motivated hound I have ever met! So eating would come a close second to sleep / scratches.”
Emma and Kurt have no regrets when it comes to adopting a greyhound. They credit their perfect match to Greyhound Rescue’s thorough matching process.
“These long noodles are the best thing that could happen to you! Once you earn a greyhound’s trust and loyalty, you’ve got it for life and you’ve made a best friend in the process.”
“Greyhound Rescue were amazing in ensuring we got matched with a grey that is perfect for our situation. They ensure that all of your ‘must haves’ or stipulations are met whilst also making sure it is the best fit for the hounds.”
“You can tell how much each of the staff at Greyhound Rescue care for all of the hounds that come through there and this is definitely shown by the care they take in placing the right dog in the right home.”
From a ‘nameless, black hound’ to beloved kennel kid to treasured family pet, Franky has certainly landed on all four paws in his new home.
“We could not imagine our life without Franky” says Emma.
“It feels like he has been with us forever when really it’s been 6 months. Franky has wormed his way into every member of the family’s heart and he knows it.”
“Prince Franky is well aware that he has everyone wrapped around his paws.
