If you’re looking for a hound-friendly walk with a gorgeous bush backdrop, look no further than Freres Crossing. Located along the Georges River Corridor in Campbelltown, at the end of the approximately 1km Freres Crossing trail awaits a beautiful sandy beach where you can cool off and have a splash around. An abundance of wildlife and interesting local flora paired with the peaceful setting place this firmly on the list of our favourite hound-friendly walks.
Where: This walk starts at Freres Road in Kentlyn 2560. You can park roadside at the entrance, however you must ensure you do not block access to the gate as this is access point for emergency crews.
Length / Duration: This walk is approximately 1km one way (2km return trip). It is a moderate descent walk to the river, with some loose rocky unsealed surfaces. The track is fairly wide the whole way.
Opening hours: You can access the walk 24/7, 365 days per year. We recommend checking the council website before you visit for any updates or closures.
On lead / off leash: Dogs must be kept on lead at all times. This is also to protect the abundance of local wildlife.
For the hounds: There is easy access to water for the hounds at the sandy beach area at the end of the walk. There are no poo bag dispensers or bins.
For the humans: There are no amenities here, no toilets or drinking fountains. The closest shops, fast food outlets and facilities are 10 minutes away on Campbelltown Road.
