The team from SavourLife joined us at Greysland for a Corporate Volunteering Day and had an amazing time learning about greyhounds and Greyhound Rescue. They spent time walking with our hounds, preparing some fun enrichment activities, and also helping us get started on a very special project- Buddy’s Garden. Earlier this year we were so pleased to have been the inaugural recipient of SavourLife’s Buddy’s Grant, which is going to allow us to build some incredible garden spaces for our Kennel Kids.
“We all had a brilliant day and learnt so much about the work that goes into rehabilitating ex racing hounds to prepare them for life in a loving family. We were all very excited to see work on Buddy’s Garden get underway and walk though the areas where the sensory gardens will be built in the coming months. The sensory gardens will provide important stimulation for the hounds to start thinking with parts of their brains that they may not have previously used and make that transition to life outside of the shelter that much easier.
A huge thank you to Nat, Emma, and the rest of the team at Greyhound Rescue for having us yesterday and for all your tireless work everyday, creating such a welcoming and loving space for greyhounds to wait for their new lives in safety.”
