Patches (homed)

Hi! I’m Patches. If you’re looking for a quiet but goofy kind of companion, I might be your guy! I haven’t known much of this big wide world yet but so far since I’ve arrived at GR HQ, I’ve discovered how much I love toys – oh, and nothing is beating a good cuddle and a scratch! I really enjoying the company of people! I’m still very new to this whole pet business, so it’s best that I’m the only doggo in your life while I get used to living in a home. I’m sure it won’t take me long to learn the ropes though!

A note from Patches’ foster carers:

Patches is toilet trained (no accidents inside and will whine to wake me up in the morning to go).
He loves playtime, squeaky toys, chews & treats, backyard zoomies, playing fetch with a squeaky kong ball (will even return the ball) cuddles and quality time.
He’s very attentive, likes to be around his humans. He is responsive, will come when called (inside & backyard).
He likes meeting new people but likes to approach them in his own time. He can become a little overwhelmed with a large number of people around, both in the home and on walks.
Allowing for a ‘safe place’ for him to settle while a large number visitors are over is best. 🙂
He enjoys short walks around the block but avoiding crowded areas is best for the first few months in his new home, walks with minimum traffic/ people/ noise is ideal and slowly building up his exposure when he is comfortable.
Has seen big & small dogs from a distance and although initially curious doesn’t seem overly interested. There is a small dog next door who barks under the fence, Patches will go over with a high wag & pricked ears but no signs of reactivity or aggression.
Patches is still learning what is and isn’t a toy, keeping things out of reach is best (off of the lounge & bedside table) and rotating his toys to keep it interesting!
