Kernighan (now Ernie) (homed)

Here is what Ernie’s foster family says about him:
Stunningly gorgeous – check.
Walks beautifully on lead – check.
Sleeps quietly through the night – check.
House-trained – check.
Loving and affectionate – check.
Safe with small dogs – check.
Ernie is one of the most beautiful greys you will meet; he is a perfect weight, has a glossy soft black coat and a very handsome face. We get a lot of comments when we are are walking – he is that good looking!
Of course, looks aren’t everything, and Ernie’s personality is also stunning! He is a very affectionate boy (but not too clingy) who loves pats and attention some of the time, but is mostly happy just lying on his bed relaxing through the day.   Ernie has been couped up in a kennel for most of his life, and as such, he is very low maintenance and doesn’t seem to need much space.  He would suit a range of situations, including working professionals, older people, families with older kids and so on.
He is fine with other dogs but not super interested in them (he is more focused on people), so I think he’d also be fine as an only dog.  Ernie has quite a strong personality and is really, really  smart; he would be a perfect dog to take to obedience training because he learns everything so quickly.  One of the best attributes that Ernie has is, unlike most greyhounds, he will actually bark if a stranger comes to the door – we feel very safe with this boy in the house! He is certainly not a barker (most greys aren’t) but he will let you know if something isn’t right – which is a real attribute in any dog.
This gorgeous boy hasn’t had much love or affection in his past life and he is soaking up family life like a sponge. I would love to see him in a home of his own by Christmas – please call if you would like to know more about this lovely boy.

Kernie arrived today for fostering; so far so good. He walks beautifully on lead, seems to be house-trained and loved his walk! The girls are already smitten! Welcome to foster care Kernie!!
