Gidget (Puppy) (Homed)

Gidget is proudly sponsored by Laura.

My name is Gidget and I am a little girl with big ideas. My big idea, just like my namesake is to go surfing. Um….counter surfing that is! But being a puppy who was surrendered because I had broken my leg means I’m going to need some help to get to that counter surfing height!

At 8 weeks old I broke my leg while in my pen with my brothers and sisters. The nature of my injury meant I would be no good as a racer, so my owner surrendered me after the break had healed at 14 weeks. Because I had to be kept by myself for 6 weeks and not run around I need some help to recover. I need hydrotherapy to help develop muscle in my back legs, high quality food to help my bones grow strong, in home physio, and vet visits to see how I’m progressing.

I am currently in foster care with two greyhounds, a cattle dog, and a staffy so I am being very well socialized and learning how to be a pet. I am a nosy, cheeky little kleptomaniac who wants to explore everything life has to offer and I’m not going to be held back by a little thing like a wonky leg. No sireeeee!

I need a home with a family who can commit to continue my treatments and check ups, and  I will also need someone who is immune to my cuteness and be firm with me. I am just a baby so I need to learn some rules (so I am told anyway!) so I will need to go to dog manners classes, and continue my socialization to grow into a well rounded dog. I am expected to make a full recovery and my injury doesn’t make any difference to my joy in life!

Greyhound Rescue will cover the costs of my treatment, and my desexing when I am big enough. Because of this I will need a home in the Sydney area as my dogtor and hydrotherapist is in Western Sydney. If you are up for a little girl with big ideas, get in touch with the volunteers
