Spike (Homed)

Hi ya I’m Spike, and unlike my name I’m not spikey at all! I am a relaxed cool dude looking for my forever couch. I have a extra special quirk in that I love to “grin” when I say hello to people so although it looks  a bit scarey I promise you I’m the goofiest laid back lad around! Now wouldn’t you love a dog with that extra special talent?I’m great with kiddies, and I am fairly relaxed around smaller dogs so far. Really, I’m just a loveable lump of hound that I know you won’t be able to resist. Get in touch with the volunteers info@greyhoundrescue.com.au

City 2 Surf 2016

DSC06804

Put on your running shoes and come join us for this year’s City 2
Surf on August 14th! We have a team participating this year to raise much needed funds for Greyhound Rescue and we would love you to join us. You don’t have to run, walkers are also welcome (including mums and dads with prams) just choose the starting group that best fits your physical fitness.

More of a couch potato like our houndies? That’s ok, we would love some sponsors for our team members, or even some cheerleaders along the way. Spread the word for us at your workplace, and among family and friends, every little bit counts.

If you would like to join us you need to register by following this link at the City 2 Surf Website. You can join our team the Greyhound Rescue Racers which is already set up. You will then need to start your individual fundraising page here at Everyday Hero and join our fundraising team there too. Don’t forget to share your fundraising page and update your followers on how you are doing!

We will be meeting after the run for some refreshments, and maybe there might be a hound or two at the end to give us all a hug for our efforts! Any questions please contact Kate kate@greyhoundrescue.com.au

Winter Magic Festival 2016

Greyhound Rescue is participating in this year’s largest event in the Blue Mountains, the Winter Magic Festival! Our Mountain Hounds volunteers will have some greyhound related goodies to sell, volunteers to chat to, and a hound or two to hug! Wrap up warm and come say hello . This is a free event, but parking is extremely limited, so we suggest using public transport. Hopping off at Katoomba Station will get you a few footsteps away from the main event. There are stalls the whole length of the main street, food, entertainment, and more. Doggies are welcome as this is an outdoor venue – however it does get very crowded and noisy online. The Grand Parade does feature drummers, musicians, and similar, so please use your best judgement as to whether your doggie would be comfortable in this environment. See you there!

Bevan (Homed)

Bevan is kindly sponsored by Kendal, Clyde, Deb & Jack, Danielle, Carol & Nicole.

Hi I’m Bevan and I’m playful happy boy. Don’t confuse me with that other kind of ‘bevan’ no, no, no. You won’t find me drinking a tinnie in a singlet, I’m supermodel material don’t you know! I am looking for a home without small fluffies, and would probably be best with children over 5. I love playing with my toys, and spending my days conserving my energy snoozing between zoomies in the big runs. If you are interested in me contact info@greyhoundrescue.com.au

Robyn (Homed)

Robyn is kindly sponsored by Michele, Nina & Luke.

I’m Robyn the red rocket, and I LOVE to have fun! I have plenty of joie de vivre, I’m just looking for my special someone to share it with! I love kiddies but because of my exuberant nature it is probably best for me to be in a home with older children. I love playing with my toys, zoomies, and of course getting belly rubs from the volunteers. They say redheads have more fun, why don’t you take me home and find out?

Lois Lane (Homed)

Lois Lane is Kindly sponsored by Danielle, Clyde, Deb & Jack.

I’m Lois Lane and I’m looking for the super person (or people) in my life to make it complete. I arrived with my friend Clark Kent, and although I would love us to stay together I would be ok without him. I’m a tiny girl but what I lack in size I make up for in personality! The home I’m after would give me a position pursuing my investigative abilities and I would be happy to report my findings on any couches, toys, or fluffy soft beds I come across. Perhaps we could start a publication together called the Daily Hound? If we go on adventures together, I’ll do the reporting and you do the typing (my paws aren’t designed for computers).  If you are interested in me get in touch with the volunteers info@greyhoundrescue.com.au

Lois is:

  • DOB: 17.1.13
  • Desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm tested and treated
  • Located in Sydney
  • Adoption Cost $350
  • Cat Tolerant: No
  • Small Dog Tolerant: TBC

Help Our Hounds Hop Into a Home This Easter

twigbunny
Help the hounds hop into a home this Easter…
For $450* you could love the Easter Show for a day. For $350 you could be loved by a greyhound forever!

We are currently OVERFULL at Greyhound Rescue with over 50 dogs in kennels alone and at present cannot save any more. We urgently need to see more hounds in homes, but we need your help to get them there.

The holiday period is a time when people are at home more and a perfect time to settle in a new family member. If you have been thinking about adopting or perhaps you have a spare couch to foster a greyhound in need we would love to hear from online casino you. Why not forgo the Show this year and spend Easter with a greyhound instead?

If you are unable to adopt or foster, we are also always in need of regular sponsors and donations particularly at times like these when our kennelling, food, treatments, and vet costs are very high. Every little bit counts!

For more information on our adoption and fostering process please visit www.greyhoundrescue.com.auor contact info@greyhoundrescue.com.au and get in touch with our volunteers.
