Bark in the Park

Today we went to Bark in the Park at Victoria Park, Camperdown, Sydney and the greyhounds had a marvellous time. The white sisters Patch and Socks looked just great in the Greyhound rescue coat, as did Dozer, Sophie, Jack, Angus and Poppy. Poppy even got to go on stage with Charlotte and Stevie Jacobs! However, it all became a bit too much and some of the hounds had to have a lie down!!

Also today, Andy and Sally went to foster carers Maria and Chris in Fairlight, so a big thank you to Maria and Chris.

Oh I had no idea this was on. We live just a few minutes away! I would have loved to bring our girls down and come and meet your new greyhounds.

This looks amazing, all the dogs look like their having a great time!
I was lucky enough to stay with Janet and Peter (and the dogs!) for a while and got to see first hand the work they do with the greyhounds. Their love for these dogs in unprecedented and although their work is very rewarding it is also very tough. They will never let harm come to these dogs meaning they are always caring for new greyhounds and do need every bit of support they can get.
I have never considered owning a greyhound but after living with them for a month and seeing what a great, loyal companion they can be I cant wait to own one in the future.

I am sure they have lost count of the number of animals lives they have saved over the years and I would just like to say long may it continue.
