A tribute to Roger

About two years ago Vickie adopted Roger and Tallulah and with her they became two magnificent greyhounds. Sadly we have heard today that at the tender age of five, Roger was riddled with cancer and has now gone ‘Over The Rainbow Bridge’.

In Vickie’s words ‘

As some of you will  know, Roger was a beautiful boy, full of love and life and a great source of happiness for me and many others. He amused us all with his comical poses like his legs in the air when he slept stretched out on his back, and was admired for his handsomeness: his gorgeous blue-black coat, velvety fur, and gorgeous golden eyes.
He was a Mommy’s boy, who followed me around wherever I went. I absolutely fell in love with him (and Tallulah) and in the short 2 years that I had the pleasure of having him, we had a lot of great runs, love, cuddles, and fun.
Tallulah and I miss him dearly, and I am absolutely devastated, as this morning, I still had hope he would get well again and by the afternoon he was gone.
Please keep his spirit alive by remembering him as the happy boy he was in these photos taken last November.

Our thoughts are with you. We adopted Roy (Roger’s brother) and all your words resonate strongly with us. We had a rescue staffie (Chubby) who is no longer with us. She helped our Roy learn the ropes when he joined our family, so Roger will already have a friend waiting for him at Rainbow Bridge.

Vickie, sending you and Tallulah our deepest condolences; such an unfair and early loss of your gorgeous boy. When I was deciding on adopting a greyhound in March last year your “Success story” was my favorite, I laughed at Roger’s antics, he was obviously a cheeky free spirit, those memories will comfort a tiny bit…. xx

Thank you so much for your kind thoughts and words. I absolutely adored him and Tallulah and I miss him very much. I want to thank Peter and Jan at the Greyhound Rescue for all their support and caring, too. They have always been there for me, Tallulah and Roger.

Vickie this is Deb and Donna. The ones that drove you and Roger home and also bumped into the tree along the way. We are shocked so so sorry to hear of your loss. Such a truly brave gorgeous spirit. Wishing you and Tallulah comfort at this sorrowful time. xxx

Janet and David: I was hoping that we could have had a play date and had Roger and Roy get together again. Best wishes that you have many more years with Roy.
