The Illawarra Mercury – North Gong Dog Day

Greyhound Rescue visiting North Wollongong Hotel this weekend

Rescued greyhounds will be looking for new families at the North Wollongong Hotel on Saturday from 12pm to 4pm.

Greyhound Rescue (GR) NSW volunteer Ausilia Cristiano said dog lovers can find out information about fostering and adoption, grab “greyt” merchandise and buy the new children’s picture book Pointy Pembleton with funds raised helping re-home furry friends.

Some of the hounds are friendly towards cats and small dogs, while all are low maintenance and without hip problems.

“They need only a 20 minute walk each day, unlike most other dogs. They have no doggie smell, shed little hair and seldom bark, being quiet and calm in nature,” GR founder Janet Flann said.

GR dogs are desexed, vaccinated, heartworm tested and can be adopted for $350 each.
