Hola! I’m Pancho — my name means “free” in Spanish, which feels pretty fitting for a rescued greyhound starting his best life yet!

I’m a sweet, calm young lad with a soft nature and a big love for toys (seriously… toys are life). I’ve been staying with my foster family for a few weeks now, and apparently I’ve been smashing it. Here’s what they had to say about me:

“Pancho is toilet trained and sleeps through the night — no midnight wake-up calls here. He’s comfortable being left alone for up to 5.5 hours and doesn’t show any anxiety. He walks beautifully on lead with no pulling or freezing and is friendly and curious about other dogs, with lovely, polite interactions. He usually travels well in the car, although he may occasionally pretend he’s forgotten how legs work when it’s time to get out. Pancho loves people and likes to keep his favourite humans in sight. He enjoys a bit of digging and will happily chase birds if given the chance. He isn’t bothered by loud noises, settles easily, and will snooze just about anywhere. Pancho absolutely adores toys. He’s curious, confident, and has no notable fears.”

Honestly… I sound like a pretty great housemate if I do say so myself.

I’d be happy to share my home with another dog, as long as they’re calm, respectful, and not too full-on. A relaxed canine companion would suit me perfectly. Children aged 12 and over would also be fine, provided they’re gentle and understand that I sometimes need my own quiet space while I settle in.

I’ve shown calm, neutral behaviour around cats during my assessment, and with slow, gradual introductions, I may be able to live happily with a feline friend too.

So, if you’ve got a Pancho-sized space in your heart (and on your couch), please reach out to the lovely folks at Greyhound Rescue. I’m ready to meet my forever people!
