Hi there, I’m Lil Rob! I’m a dapper dude with dashing looks and dreamy eyes. I just know you’ll fall in love as soon as you meet me!
I’m a friendly boy who can be a bit shy about new people and experiences, but once I get to know you a bit better, I’m all about leaning on you for some gentle pats and love. I get along well with most dogs, but I’m still learning how to share my toys and food, so I think I’d do best in a home where I’m the only dog.
I’m also a relaxation guru and love to lounge about for most of the day, although it’s best if you have a comfy dog bed for me as I find the human couch and beds a bit too exciting and don’t really know how to share them yet. In between snooze sessions, I love a good play, zoom in the garden, or some fun enrichment to work on!
I was lucky enough to be taken into foster care for a lil while and here’s what my humans had to say about me!
Lil Rob LOVES zoomies. His forever home needs to have a backyard so he can do zoomies at any time he pleases, and his forever human(s) should be prepared to take him for a brisk walk at least once a day. He gets very excited when he knows it’s time for walks (may take a bit of use to getting him still enough to put his collar/lead on), but once on your way he walks very well on lead. He has met other dogs his size on walks and has been OK with them, but hasn’t met any small dogs. He has come across some cats though – no thank you!
Lil Rob is a bit of a sensitive boy. He gets scared very easily by loud, echoey noises such as thunderstorms, general “bang” sounds in the neighbourhood, and certain sounds from the TV. I leave classical music on for him during the day. His forever home will be quiet more often than not, with somewhere for Lil Rob to relax/escape to that’s his sanctuary. Ha may also exhibit “sleep startle”. For this reason he shouldn’t be homed with small children, unless they are able to respect his space and be mindful of the environment. With lots of encouragement and praise, Lil Rob will come out of his shell and show you how loving and affectionate he is.
Lil Rob LOVES his toys and can be quite protective of them. For this reason he should be an only dog (aka the only love in your life), unless your current dog can be respectful of Lil Rob’s toys/space, and/or they have supervised play only. Lil Rob also tends to eat slowly/graze, so his food will be at risk of being finished off if there is another dog already in your life.
