Hello, I’m Gerard!

I’m a beautiful big black boy, and while the paperwork may insist that I am 2 years old, I think we all know I am actually just a very large baby. A sweet, slightly goofy, affection-loving baby with soulful eyes and a strong interest in whatever snacks you might be carrying.

I can be a tiny bit shy when we first meet, but only in a very endearing way, and it really doesn’t take much before my lovely nature starts to shine through. I adore people, I love affection, and I very much want to be wherever you are. If you happen to be carrying treats, I will need to be even closer so I can gently put my snoot in your pocket to further investigate.

I have the kind of face that you can’t help but fall for: Big soft eyes, a gentle expression, and the general look of someone who has never done anything wrong in his life. Whether or not that is strictly true is not important. What matters is that I am very sweet, very lovely, and very easy to adore.

I’m also gentle with other dogs. Sometimes I still seem a little unsure, like I’m trying to work out the social rules on the spot, but I’m always soft and polite about it. I’m just a big baby who is still learning the ropes, so with a little more confidence I’d be absolutely fine living with another dog of any size.

Because I’m such a sweet and gentle soul, I’d also be fine in a home with children over 5. What I really need is a family who will adore me for the big softie I am and help me keep growing into myself.

I’m told there’s something very special about big gentle boys, and I’d like to think I’m a pretty lovely example. So if you’ve got a soft spot for a gentle young hound with a heart of gold and a face that could melt concrete, I think we could be a perfect match.
