Betty(Homed)

Betty has been adopted by Alyson, Joe and Isabelle and will be company for Sarah and Bob.

Betty is very small for a greyhound, one of the smallest we have had and is a delightful, gentle little girl. Still only 14 months old she has been used to living with other large and small dogs and would make an excellent family pet. Her current foster carer writes of her:

‘Betty is becoming more confident and loves cuddles. She is learning to fetch a ball and can open doors by standing and pulling the handle down! (especially if she wants to wake us up in the morning!)
She currently lives with Sarah, another greyhound and, Bob, a jack russell. The three of them love bushwalks together.

Betty loves her food, thinks she is a lap dog and loves nothing more than to be up on my lap when I am watching TV. She is a lovable little girl and is coming on in leaps and bounds (literally)!!’

Betty is:

*  1 year old ( born Feb 2010)

*  desexed

*  vaccinated

*  microchipped

*  heartworm tested

*  costs $300

Jet (Homed)

p1020224p1020229Jet has found his forever home with Kellie and Neil.

Jet has been with us for a while now, deserves better photos than these taken when he first arrived and certainly needs to have a break from kennels.

Jet is the typical ‘velcro’ greyhound, meaning he just wants to be with you and enjoy your company. He is a real softie and if you want a close and loyal companion then Jet is the one for you. Jet has been in kennels too long and badly needs a foster or forever home.

Jet is

*  3 years old (dob May 2008)

*  desexed

*  vaccinated

*  microchipped

*  heartworm tested and injected

*  costs $300

Vet bills…can anyone help please?

We have been hit recently with some very heavy vet bills of over $2000 and this is partly due to the fact that we do not discriminate in the greyhounds that we take on.

Amy, 10 years old. Teeth and desexing.

Harry, only young but no testicles descended. Desexing.

Solo, 5 years old. Teeth and burst ear drums.

Etc etc

If anyone can help with these bills, we would be very grateful. Donations can receive a tax deductible receipt and can be made straight to our bank account, ‘Greyhound Rescue Inc’, BSB 012289, account number 5247 92379 or via Paypal through the website.

Inna (‘cat friendly’)

Inna has found her forever home with Andre and Morag.

Inna’s foster carer writes of her:

“Inna is 8 years young, and although she is a bit silver around the muzzle she is delightfully playful and has a very youthful outlook on life.  She enjoys a 2 minute sprint around the yard of a morning and is then content, like most greyhounds, to spend the rest of the day stretched out on the lounge or under the table.  She has a lovely, glossy coat and is in excellent health.  She still thinks she is a supermodel, and we are constantly telling her how beautiful she is!

Inna is excellent with dogs of all sizes and shapes.  She currently shares our house and yard with another greyhound, some Aussie Shepherds and miniature pinschers.  She gets along famously with all of them.  She lives with tiny dogs and might well be ‘cat friendly’.  China adores people, including children.  She is always nudging gently in when we have visitors as she loves cuddles and pats.”

Inna is:

*  8 years old

* desexed

*  microchipped

*  vaccinated

*  heartworm tested and treated

*  cost negotiable

Issy

Issy has found her forever home with her long term foster carer in the Blue mts.

Issy is young, maybe 12-15months and a bundle of energy. We don’t know her real age as she does not have ear tags.

When she first arrived she was rather shy but now relates very well to people and other animals and would go well in a family with older children.

Issy is being fostered in the Blue Mountains.

Issy is:

*  12-15 months old

*  desexed

*  microchipped

*  vaccinated

*  heartworm tested and treated

*  costs $300

Homer and Woody’s new home

Homer(black) and Woody(brindle) have found a beautiful home with Jenny and Malcolm and their two children. These are two lucky greyhounds and Jenny writes of them:

‘Homer has found his forever home with us and we couldn’t be happier. He loves his daily walks and especially loves to cuddle on the lounge with us. He is such an affectionate boy, and I get woken every morning by him licking my toes. Very Cute. I couldn’t imagine our home without him.

Woody has found his forever home with us. We fell in love with this amazing “Big Boy” the moment we met him. We have nicknamed him “Whip it”, because we get whipped by his wagging tail when he greets us. He is definitely a Velcro Hound, always following us around.’
