Amy is a beautiful Light Fawn, who at 8 years old, has won several races and been a Mum 3 times over. She is very gentle and sweet, perhaps lacking in confidence a bit at the moment and needs a loving family who will take her under their wing and give her the love and devotion that she needs to rejuvenate her life. From the photo, don’t you just want to cuddle her and say ‘ It’s alright Amy, we love you’?

Colouring Competition

Thanks to all the children who entered our Greyhound Rescue Name a Dog colouring in competition. All the pictures were so good, it was hard to pick out a single winner. So the most impressive and imaginative three of the 0 to 5 years, and 6 to 10 age groups have been selected to display on our website. These are their art-works. Also, the talented children will receive a certificate with a picture of the greyhound they have named. However, as many greyhounds come to us with names, it may take a little time to find a special greyhound that suits your special name. So please be patient.

Big Dog day Out

Warringah Council’s ‘Big Dog Day Out 2010′ was a great success and many thanks to Mike, Fiona and girls who put in a lot of hard work to make sure of it. Holly also helped with preparation and on the day and thanks to her as well. It was good to see a number of adopted families and their greyhounds come along, some old stagers by now but also some newly added to the ranks.

The colouring competition was a great favourite with the children and the results of the competition will be published very shortly on the website.

!st prize in the Raffle was donated by Petbiz at Belrose. Many thanks to them for 15kg of Eukanuba, a box of treats and a collar and lead to match, valued at approx $150. This prize was won by Gordon Roberts of Turramurra. 2nd prize was won by Becky McManus of Seaforth.

Solo has fallen in love!!

Solo and Sarah have been with us for a few weeks now and as time goes by they are playing together more and more each day. In the photo they are sharing a lounge together and if you look on www.petrescue.com.au you will see a video, under Sarah’s name, of the pair of them playing like puppies!!

They really do have something special between them and it would be marvellous if they could find a home together.

Bruiser

Oscar II

Oscar is in Victoria with Kayleigh near Melbourne. Any inquiries to her on 03 5940 8787 or 0424 569 148.

Oscar is a handsome dark fawn boy who needs a forever home. He is very affectionate, loves everyone he meets and could quite happily be patted and stroked all day long! He really enjoys his walks, and would need to be walked everyday.

He could happily live as an only dog and be a great companion for someone, but we also think he would get along fine with another large or medium sized female dog. He is learning how to play with a medium sized female dog in his current foster time and is having a great time!

Oscar is a retired ex racing greyhound so will need someone who can understand his background. As you can see in his photos he is well and truly enjoying retired life!

If you think that Missy looks like Solo it is not surprising as they come from the same trainer and they are related. Just as Solo is a big boy, so Missy is a big girl. We hear that she does not like other dogs too much, although this has not been apparent since she arrived. However, it would be best at this stage that she is the only dog in the family.

Bluey

Bluey, as his name suggests, has a beautiful blue coat but needs to put on a bit of weight. He has finished his racing career, having won a few races, and now needs someone to give him a loving home. He is a very gentle and affectionate boy and will make an excellent family pet.
