Tricia and Lez have moved from Sydney to the country with their beautiful greyhound Bear.
They went to a fair in Nyngan and Bear walked away with the Blue Ribbon for Best of Class, Large Breed. He nearly got the overall champion prize but was pipped by a white Rabbit!!
Well done Bear.
Last night, Saturday May 12th, we had a very entertaining evening of fun and laughter and at the same time raised nearly $3000 for Greyhound Rescue. A great effort by all involved.
Our hostess, Portia, was in great form, had everyone in fits of laughter and was also able to extract the last ounce of donation from those present. Well done Portia.

What a glorious autumn day it was in Centennial Park, with the sun shining and a blue sky and a lot of Greyhound Rescue adoptees, plus others, getting together to enjoy a wonderful day.
It was great to see people we had not met for a long time, spend time and a lazy day, well not too lazy!, catching up on stories about their greyhounds. And the greyhounds, a number of them remembered us and got quite excited at the reunion!
Thank you to everyone who came to make the day a successful and memorable one and particular thanks to Nora and Ed who organised the day for us and enabled us to raise a considerable amount of sponsorship. Donations are still being accepted.

Greyhound Rescue is hosting a sponsored walk to raise some much needed funds and to increase awareness of the charity and greyhounds as pets. It will also be… a great social event for all interested in greyhounds.
Owners or foster carers can submit their greyhound(s), then an online fundraising page will be created. Friends and family can then sponsor your greyhound to walk around The Grand Drive. To request for a registration form please post on the facebook event wall or facebook message the admin of this event – Nora Anderson.

Humans and dogs of all ages and sizes are welcome, however only greyhounds can register to raise money. We are allowed 4 leashed dogs per person on The Grand Drive and unfortunately greyhounds must be muzzled as this is not an official event. Greenhounds are the exception.
You are all invited to have a picnic social (area in Centennial Park to be confirmed). Some refreshments and snacks will be provided but we would love if you were able to bring a dish to share.
If you are unable to come to the walk but still want to raise money then feel free to submit a form and do your walk in a local park on the day or at another time.
For those that are unable to physically walk The Grand Drive but still want to take part at the event, feel free to come along and sit at the picnic area to support the others.
Volunteers are also welcome!

It was a glorious day at North Sydney on Saturday and although the crowds were a little thin, no doubt due to the Easter school holidays, Nora and Ed still managed to raise nearly $300 for Greyhound Rescue. A great effort thank you both.
We also met Andy and Sally who were adopted a year ago by Stephanie and Luca and the newly adopted Sarah with Jenny and Mark. Joe popped in again with the greenhounds Bear and Sandy and it is becoming quite a meeting place for adopted greyhounds as well as those looking for homes. We love to meet you all and find out how the greyhounds are getting on.
And we look forward to seeing anyone else who can make it on May 12th.
